With the finish of the summer sailors season we will see the return of the ''''Winter is Coming'''' Syvstjernen Race Series. This is a friendly, at times chilly, series of fun races we hold out of LLB. We have a short Monday race whose primary objective is to have fun while enjoying the beauty of autumn/winter evening sailing. Race can simply be a series of staggered starts timed based on boats handicap, a simple night race out and around Middlegrundt (lasts years was brilliant with 3 boats racing close in light fog) or ''''chase Rasmine'''' (Ras and crew are given a suitable head start and then the rest of the boats are let lose to race her down). We did 4-5 of these last year and they were great fun.
The race is followed by a cold bevvie, warm meal and at times hot banter in a local restaurant 5mins from LLB. Each night the majority of the crews would enjoy the really good pizza''''s this restaurant serves up. This is a good way to get some night sailing experience with navigation, sea sense, team work and watch keeping key skills paramount. As you would expect this can be chilly so warm gear is needed - but heck we all live in Denmark so bit of winter doesn''''t bother us.
As per Monday''''s teams are put together with a mix of experience and its really a marriage of the Monday race with the crew evening. Hope to see you out there.
