Welcome to Yacht Club "Syvstjernen"
This club is only for employees of A.P. Moller - Maersk.
The Sailing Club 'Syvstjernen' admits members provided they are employed by an A.P. Møller-Mærsk AS group company.
The Club operates and maintains five 9-10 metre yachts (six in Copenhagen), which can be skippered by members who hold a Danish Certificate of Proficiency in Boat Operation (Duelihedsbevis) and have proven sailing experience. Courses to obtain the Duelihedsbevis are run once a year in Danish and English (springtime).
The season starts at the beginning of May and ends usually mid-October (depending on the weather). The yachts can be rented for holidays, weekend, day or evening sailing.
For members new to sailing we have Crew Training Evenings (Tuesday) and Race Evenings (Monday) free of charge throughout the season. Racing for more experienced crews is held on Wednesday. The Club's yachts also participate in the 'Round Zealand', 'Maersk Cup' and other races.
The club emphasizes safety on the water and all its’ skippers are expected to uphold high standards of seamanship at all times. Attendance at annual safety briefings to update our skippers is compulsory.
